The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have issued updated interim guidance for certain groups of people who have been fully vaccinated with the Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines to receive a booster shot, in order to increase their protection from COVID-19.

These specific groups include:

  • People ages 65 and up
  • People under 65 with underlying medical conditions
  • Others who maybe have increased exposure to COVID-19 exposure and transmission because of occupational or institutional setting

For IRC vendors: The federal program that once paid pharmacies to travel to CCF and ICF facilities and administer vaccines will not be extended for the booster round. Clients in these facilities that qualify under the recommended recipient categories may need to travel to an approved location in order to receive their booster shot.
