On October 29, 2024, the Inland Regional Center (IRC) was transformed into a spooky wonderland as we hosted our first-ever Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) Vendor Fair. The event, themed “Spooktacular,” was a thrilling success, bringing together vendors, and IRC Service Coordinators for a day filled with valuable connections, resources, and a touch of Halloween fun.

As attendees entered the IRC Conference Building, they were greeted by a festive atmosphere that perfectly captured the spirit of the season. From the cobweb-covered booths to the eerie, yet inviting, decorations, the event was designed to create an engaging and memorable experience for all. Vendors embraced the theme, with many sporting creative costumes and decking out their booths with spooky décor, making the event not only informative but also delightfully entertaining.

Brooke Chambers, IRC’s ICF Manager, shared her enthusiasm for the event, stating, “The Spooktacular Vendor Fair was a wonderful opportunity to bring together our community of care providers in a setting that was both fun and productive. It was amazing to see the creativity of our vendors and the valuable connections made throughout the day. This event has set the stage for future collaborations that will undoubtedly benefit the individuals we serve.”

The Spooktacular Vendor Fair also offered plenty of opportunities for networking and building connections. Attendees and vendors alike had the chance to engage in meaningful conversations, exchange contact information, and discuss potential collaborations. The event underscored the importance of community and partnership in providing the best possible care for individuals with I/DD.

In addition to the professional development and networking opportunities, the event also featured various Halloween-themed activities. There was a costume contest for attendees and even a spooky photo booth where participants could capture memories of the day. These activities added to the festive atmosphere and ensured that everyone had a fun experience.

As the day came to a close, it was clear that the Spooktacular Vendor Fair had achieved its goal of bringing together the ICF community in a meaningful and engaging way. The event not only provided valuable resources and information but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and shared purpose among all who attended.

We are grateful to all the vendors, attendees, and staff who made this event possible and helped create a day filled with learning, connection, and a little bit of Halloween magic.
