Starting July 1, 2025, families will no longer have to pay fees under the Parental Fee Program for certain 24-hour out-of-home care services. This change comes after the program was officially repealed by a new state law. Regional centers also no longer need to send monthly reports about new placements or changes.

Although no new fees will be charged after June 30, 2025, any unpaid fees from before that date will continue to be collected. Families may still be contacted for information, but audits and regulations related to the program will no longer apply moving forward.

For any questions, families can reach out to the Department of Developmental Service’s Parental Fee Program staff by phone at (800) 862-0007 or by email at [email protected].
