On June 17, Inland Regional Center (IRC) hosted a special Parents Advisory Committee (PAC) Brunch and Celebration at El Torito in San Bernardino to recognize and honor the dedicated parent leaders who have served on the committee over the past three years.
The event brought together PAC members, IRC leadership, and staff for a morning of appreciation and recognition, celebrating the meaningful impact these individuals have made in supporting families, strengthening communities, and advancing opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities throughout the Inland Empire.
Recognizing Leadership Through Service
Change does not happen overnight or in isolation. Being part of a community means engaging, participating, and working together to improve existing services and, ultimately, the communities in which we live.
The members of IRC’s Parents Advisory Committee understand this and put it into action every day. Throughout their three-year term, PAC members have generously shared their knowledge, experiences, and time to support families, promote advocacy, and strengthen connections between Inland Regional Center and the diverse communities it serves.
The celebration provided an opportunity to thank and recognize these dedicated parent leaders for their commitment, willingness to serve, and passion for helping others navigate developmental disability services and resources.

Empowering Families Through Advocacy and Outreach
PAC members serve as trusted voices and advocates within their communities. Many lead their own parent groups and community organizations, helping to deliver a consistent message of hope, inclusion, and empowerment to individuals and families seeking support.
Through outreach, education, and advocacy efforts, they help make IRC services more accessible and understandable for the families they serve. By sharing resources, offering encouragement, and helping families connect with one another, PAC members play a critical role in building stronger support networks throughout the region.
Their lived experiences and leadership help ensure that families feel informed, heard, and empowered as they navigate services and opportunities for their loved ones.
A Celebration of Commitment and Impact
The PAC Brunch and Celebration was a meaningful occasion to reflect on the accomplishments and contributions of committee members over the past three years. Attendees enjoyed an opportunity to connect, share experiences, and celebrate the relationships built through their collective work and dedication.
The event highlighted the positive impact PAC members have made by fostering collaboration, encouraging family engagement, and helping IRC better understand and respond to the needs of the communities it serves.

Advancing IRC’s Mission
The work of the Parents Advisory Committee reflects the very core of Inland Regional Center’s mission: a steadfast commitment to improving the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
Through their leadership, advocacy, and service, PAC members have helped strengthen partnerships between families and IRC while advancing opportunities for inclusion, engagement, and community participation.
As IRC looks toward the future, the organization remains committed to supporting family leadership and ensuring that parents and caregivers continue to have meaningful opportunities to share their voices, experiences, and expertise.
Inland Regional Center extends its heartfelt gratitude to every Parents Advisory Committee member for their dedication, commitment, and unwavering service. Their contributions have made a lasting difference in the lives of countless individuals and families and continue to inspire positive change throughout the Inland Empire.
