Here at Inland Regional Center (IRC), our staffers are our most valuable resource! Team IRC is made up of more than 770 professionals providing quality service to people with developmental disabilities in the Inland Empire. Each month, IRC staff nominate their outstanding colleagues in our Employee Recognition program. This month, we are celebrating Rosa Lopez and Kevin McCawley.

Hercules Award Winner – Rosa Lopez

Rosa Lopez is an HR Coordinator in our Human Resources department. Working as a member of our HR team, Rosa handles tasks and projects in various capacities from recruiting to employee relations, onboarding, and more!

Rosa is known for going above and beyond to assist IRC staff with Human Resources questions and concerns. Open enrollment is an especially busy time for HR; it’s when all of #TeamIRC is evaluating and signing-up for benefits. Rosa’s assistance during this time was crucial.

Her colleagues had this to say about her, “Rosa is consistent and responsive to staff needs. Even if she is busy, she will make sure you know your request was received and when she anticipates she will be able to assist you. She is friendly and a pleasure to work with.”

To get to know her a little better, we asked Rosa a few questions. Here is what she shared!

What do you like most about your work at IRC?

I enjoy working in the Human Resources department. My coworkers are amazing, and I love that they are always willing to help. I think we make a great team. I also enjoy working with all IRC staff, including managers and directors. They have all been very kind and respectful towards me.

What is your life like outside of work?

On my days off, I like to spend time with my family and friends. I also like going to Disneyland and traveling. If I could travel more, I would.

How do you think this award reflects your personality and work at the agency?

I am honored to have been given this award. I love working at IRC and always try my best to help everyone the best I can.

Positively Contagious Award Winner – Kevin McCawley

Kevin McCawley is IRC’s 1915(i) Waiver Coordinator. The Medicaid Waiver program helps bring federal funds to the Regional Center to fund programs for our clients. Kevin’s role is to help IRC clients, who qualify, to be added to this valuable program. She also works to recertify their qualifications annually.

Kevin is well-loved by her fellow staffers. She is a great communicator with a passion for the job. She brings to the agency a caring demeanor and kind smile. Her teammates shared these kind words about her, “Kevin is friendly and has a smile for everyone. Seeing her in the halls or working with her on a case brightens my day. Her positive attitude is contagious.”

We wanted to learn more about Kevin, so we asked her a few questions.

What do you like most about your work at IRC?

I like the people that I work with.  I also like knowing that what we do really makes a difference in the lives of our consumers and their families.

What is your life like outside of work?

Outside of work, I love camping and hiking. And playing with my grandchildren!

How do you think this award reflects your personality and work at the agency?

I hope this award reflects my work and personality! I like to think that a positive attitude is contagious. One more thing— Can I thank whoever nominated me? It means a lot to me!

Thank you, Rosa and Kevin, for making IRC a great place to work.
