On October 17, 2024, we had the pleasure of hosting a Coffee n’ Chat session, where we discussed the important initiatives of the Purchase of Services (POS) Workgroup. The event took place at the IRC office located on 1425 S Waterman Ave, San Bernardino, and proved to be an engaging and informative session for all who attended.
Insightful Discussions and Guest Speakers
Our guest speakers, Maria Rodriguez, Cultural Specialist, and Estefania Pena, Cultural Specialist for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities, shared their valuable insights on the impact and work of the POS Workgroup. Both speakers brought a wealth of knowledge about cultural sensitivity and community engagement, which set the stage for a productive discussion on how the Purchase of Services initiative is making a difference.
In addition to our esteemed guest speakers, representatives from the POS Workgroup were present to offer detailed information on how their efforts help improve service delivery, ensuring that all members of our community receive the support they need. Participants had the chance to ask questions and exchange ideas, fostering a spirit of collaboration and inclusivity.
A Strong Community Presence
The turnout was fantastic, with attendees from all walks of life coming together to connect over coffee and engage in meaningful dialogue. The QR code provided for registration made the process seamless, and everyone left feeling more informed about how to access the wide range of resources available to them through IRC.

This Coffee n’ Chat was not only an opportunity to learn more about the POS Workgroup but also a chance for our community to come together, share experiences, and build relationships. We look forward to hosting more events like this in the future.
