On March 8, 2025, Inland Regional Center (IRC) proudly hosted the Bridges to Wellness Resource Fair, an impactful event dedicated to ensuring equitable access to vital resources for our community. This special project was funded by the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) through the Language Access and Cultural Competency (LACC) initiative, reinforcing IRC’s commitment to engaging clients from diverse backgrounds, including those who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing or monolingual. By prioritizing language accessibility, the event removed barriers that often prevent individuals from receiving essential services and support.

Through this initiative, IRC provided food resources to 140 families who were identified by their Enhanced Case Management Service Coordinator, ensuring that those in need had access to nutritious meals. Beyond food assistance, families had the opportunity to connect with various community agencies, fostering a collaborative approach to health and wellness. By bringing together service providers, resource organizations, and community members, the event served as a powerful bridge to comprehensive support systems.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to our dedicated Community Engagement Team, Service Access and Equity (SAE) Team, In-Roads Creative Programs, and the Enhanced Case Management Team for their incredible efforts in making this event a success. Their unwavering dedication and commitment to service truly embody the spirit of community engagement.
Dr. CJ Cook, DBA, MBA, Program Administrator overseeing Community Engagement, Service Access and Equity, Emergency Services, and Training and Development, reflected on the significance of the event:
“Events like these are the true meaning of community engagement. Through partnership and a shared commitment to wellness, our clients receive the support and resources they need to navigate modern-day challenges.”
Lilliana Garnica, Program Manager of Enhanced Service Coordination, also shared her thoughts:
“Hearing all the wonderful feedback from our families was a testament to the heartfelt work and dedication that went into making this event exceptional. Knowing that these resources will help families thrive reaffirms the importance of our mission.”

The Bridges to Wellness Resource Fair was more than just an event—it was a milestone in ensuring that every IRC client, regardless of language or background, has the opportunity to access the resources they need for a healthier, more connected future. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to making this initiative a resounding success!
