On Monday, May 19, 2025, the Inland Regional Center’s Consumer Advisory Committee (IRC-CAC) hosted a vibrant and heartwarming Movie Night at the IRC Conference Center. The event welcomed approximately 45 attendees, ages 16 and up, for an evening filled with entertainment, laughter, and connection.

Guests enjoyed a special screening of Inside Out 2, made possible through the collaborative efforts of IRC’s dedicated Client Advocates, the Community Engagement Team, and the Service, Access, and Equity (SAE) Team. This community event was further supported by our generous sponsors, 24 Hour Home Care and In-Roads Creative Programs Inc.

Transforming the conference center into a cozy movie theater, IRC staff member George Gonzalez set up a large projector and screen, elevating the movie experience. Attendees embraced the spirit of the film—some even arrived dressed as their favorite emotion, adding a playful and personal touch to the evening.

Ismeth Estrada, Consumer Support Technician and Client Advocate, shared her reflections on the event:

“Movie Night was a great opportunity to connect with our community in a welcoming space. Events like these help build relationships and create a sense of belonging.”

While attendees enjoyed the film, Brooke Chambers, Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF) Manager, led a parent-focused session in an adjoining room. This engaging presentation offered parents and caregivers a meaningful opportunity to connect, ask questions, and learn more about IRC services and support options.

The event’s success would not have been possible without the enthusiastic support of our sponsors. We extend our sincere thanks to In-Roads Creative Programs Inc. and 24 Hour Home Care for their continued partnership and commitment to enriching the lives of individuals and families we serve.

Gregory Harrison, IRC Consumer Advocate, summed up the evening perfectly:

“It’s always amazing to see people come together and enjoy themselves. Nights like this show the power of community and inclusion.”

Looking ahead, the IRC-CAC is excited to announce our next community gathering: an Ice Cream Social on Monday, June 16, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Inland Regional Center. Join us for a sweet evening of ice cream, games, and connection with peers and IRC staff in a warm and inclusive atmosphere.
