On Tuesday, April 14, 2026, the Inland Regional Center (IRC) was honored to participate in the 8th Annual Regional Autism Conference, held at the West End Educational Services Center in Rancho Cucamonga. Hosted by CAPTAIN X and Region 10, the event brought together a diverse group of families, students, educators, and service providers for a powerful day centered on the theme: Navigating Autism Across the Lifespan.

A HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO OUR HOSTS

The Inland Regional Center would like to extend a sincere thank you to CAPTAIN X and Region 10 for inviting us to be part of this incredible event. It was a privilege for our team to host a resource table and engage directly with the community.

Tabling at conferences like this allows the IRC to fulfill one of its most vital roles: providing face-to-face support and ensuring that families are aware of the regional programs and services available to them. We truly enjoyed the opportunity to answer questions, share resources, and connect with so many passionate advocates and dedicated family members throughout the day.

SUPPORTING SUCCESSFUL TRANSITIONS

The core mission of the conference was to support successful transitions for individuals on the spectrum, from Pre-K all the way through adulthood. The program was packed with practical strategies and real-world insights designed to empower individuals at every stage of life.

Key highlights from the day included:

 * Keynote Address: Dr. Jennifer Cork provided a moving and informative presentation on navigating life transitions while prioritizing the mental health needs of autistic learners.

 * Young Adult Panel: One of the most impactful sessions featured firsthand perspectives from young adults with autism as they discussed their experiences navigating school, work, and independent living.

 * Interactive Breakout Sessions: These sessions offered attendees concrete strategies for fostering lifelong support and successful community integration.

LEARN, CONNECT, AND EMPOWER

Beyond the formal presentations, the atmosphere of the conference was one of inspiration and mutual support. From the student-run coffee cart to the busy resource fair, the energy in Rancho Cucamonga was a testament to the strength of the autism community in our region.

The motto of the event—Learn. Connect. Empower.—resonated deeply with the IRC team. We believe that by working together with partners like CAPTAIN X and Region 10, we can create a more inclusive environment where individuals with autism are supported through every transition they encounter.

LOOKING FORWARD

We left the 8th Annual Regional Autism Conference feeling energized and more connected than ever to the families we serve. We look forward to many more opportunities to collaborate with our community partners and to continue the vital work of supporting neurodivergent individuals across the Inland Empire.

Thank you again to everyone who stopped by the IRC table to say hello. We are proud to be part of your journey.

As Sandra Solis, Community Navigator, and Maira Gutierrez, Training Coordinator with the Family Resource Network, shared: “It was an honor to assist in planning for this year’s Captain X Conference. Our role focused on organizing outreach coordination, developing resource participation lists, and connecting with agencies to encourage attendance and on-site support. We appreciated the opportunity to contribute to a meaningful event that brought families, professionals, and organizations together.”
