Each month, IRC staffers are nominated by their colleagues in our Employee Recognition program. This month we are celebrating Yolanda Gonzalez and Susan Perkins!

August 2018 – Positively Contagious Award

Yolanda Gonzalez works at IRC as a Consumer Service Coordinator (CSC) in the Riverside Transition unit. Yolanda is the kind of person that puts you at ease right away. She has a warm spirit and radiates good vibes! Here is what her teammates had to say about her, “Yolanda is cheerful and optimistic. She always greets everyone and asks about their day. She compliments and uplifts others with her contagious smile and genuine personality.”

To get to know her better we asked Yolanda to answer a few questions. Here’s a little of what she shared!

Tell us about life at IRC.
I enjoy working alongside such amazing individuals at IRC, as a CSC for transition. I also love the opportunity to meet new Consumers and their families.

What is your life like outside of work?
I enjoy being out and about with my family. I also get really excited about finding discount deals. I’m a total bargain shopper!

How do you think this award reflects your personality and work at the agency?
I strongly believe in treating others the way you would like to be treated. I appreciate the chance to greet others and have positive experiences.

August 2018 – Hercules Award

Susan Perkins is also as a Consumer Service Coordinator (CSC) in the Riverside Transition unit. Susan is an IRC veteran and a go-to person for information! She is regarded as a mentor and a motivator among her teammates. Her colleagues shared these kind words about her, “Susan is a wonderful person. Her ability to accommodate, even when it’s not easy or convenient, assures others of a continuing and successful relationship with her.”

We wanted to learn a little more about Susan, so we asked her a few questions. Here’s what she told us!

Tell us about life at IRC.
I’ve enjoyed working at IRC for 14 years. I worked in an adult unit for four years and transition for 10 years.  I’ve made so many friends and truly enjoy my job.

What is your life like outside of work?
Outside of work I enjoy camping, going to sporting events, cruise vacations, watching my daughter cheer, going to the casino, and gardening!  Fun fact: I’m a triplet. Oh, and I love my Boston Terrier!

How do you think this award reflects your personality and work at the agency?
I feel that I work hard and it’s nice to be appreciated in this way. It’s also an honor to be nominated by a fellow employee.

Congratulations Yolanda and Susan! You help make IRC a wonderful place to work!
