On Monday, June 16th, 2025, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., the IRC Consumer Advisory Committee (CAC) hosted one of its most successful events to date—Ice Cream Night at IRC Headquarters in San Bernardino! We are so grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening a joyful celebration filled with fun, laughter, and community spirit.
A special thank you goes out to our generous event sponsors, In-Roads Creative Programs Inc. and 24-Hour Home Care. Their continued support makes events like Ice Cream Night possible and helps us create meaningful experiences for our community.
From the moment guests walked through the doors, the atmosphere was electric. Clients, families, and staff came together for a summer gathering that offered something for everyone—whether you were enjoying an ice cream cone or a fruity popsicle. But more than the sweet treats, what truly made the evening memorable was the joy and connection shared among our attendees.
We were thrilled to reconnect with many familiar faces—and even more excited to welcome so many new clients. This was one of our largest CAC turnouts ever, a clear reminder of how much these events mean to our community. The response was so overwhelming, we had to bring out extra tables and chairs, and we nearly ran out of ice cream and popsicles—a great problem to have!
Guests played board games, caught up with old friends, made new ones, and enjoyed the welcoming, inclusive vibe that defines all CAC events. The energy was contagious.
A highlight of the evening was seeing my fellow Client Advocates, Quila Bell and Ismeth Estrada, mingling with attendees. Many recognized us from recent social media videos and were excited to meet us in person.
“It made me so happy to hear clients come up and introduce themselves. People were interacting with me, chatting about how excited they were. It was such a good feeling to connect with so many.”
— Quila Bell, IRC Client Advocate
We were also honored to have Robert, Program Manager from Options for All (OFA), as our guest speaker. He gave an inspiring and informative presentation about career opportunities in film, media, and content creation for individuals with disabilities. His talk sparked curiosity and excitement, offering valuable insight for those interested in entering the entertainment industry.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Robert and the OFA team for sharing their passion and expertise. Collaborations like these strengthen our ties with community partners who share our values of inclusion, opportunity, and empowerment. At IRC CAC, our goal is always to provide events where clients feel seen, supported, and celebrated—and thanks to your participation, Ice Cream Night was a perfect example of that mission in action.
