On Monday, March 16th, 2026, the Inland Regional Center Client Advisory Committee (CAC) hosted a festive and engaging St. Patrick’s Day Coffee Night, bringing together clients for an evening focused on connection, community, and our love for the color Green.

Our event welcomed approximately 50 attendees, creating a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere. Participants enjoyed Coffee with Whipped Cream and Shamrock Sprinkles as well as Green St Patty’s Cookies. We also had lots of Ice-Cold Pink Lemonade for our Non-Coffee Drinkers, just in case. Either way, there were plenty of drinks for everybody while they were building connections and socializing with each other over board games and conversation.

We would like to give a special shoutout to our Special Guest Speaker Stephen Donahue from 24 Hour Home Care! Stephen took evening to give an informative presentation on Employment Opportunities. He gave us tips on how to search for work, how to dress for an interview, and how to conduct yourself during the interview. And one of the things that made his presentation special was that he reminded all the clients that it is never too late to change your mind and refuse the job offer. It is a reminder that we always have a choice and that we should never stop advocating for ourselves. Stephen Donahue provided valuable insight and resources to attendees interested in finding work and taking the first steps into a new phase of their lives. Thank you, Stephen.

Speaking of the importance of making our own decisions for ourselves, one of the highlights of our Coffee Night Event was giving clients the opportunity to choose the film to be shown for our upcoming CAC Movie Night in May! It was a close vote between Superman (2025), Toy Story 4, Barbie, Monsters Inc, and Champions. Probably in anticipation of the new movie coming out, Toy Story 4 ended up being our big winner by ONE VOTE!

All in all, this year’s CAC St. Patty’s Coffee Night was a big success! Special thanks to our partners, including In-Roads Creative Programs, Inc., 24 Hour Home Care, and the California Department of Developmental Services, for their continued support for our work. Our CAC events continue to serve as a platform for individuals ages 16 and older to connect, share ideas, and stay informed about upcoming events and opportunities. To those of us who attended, thank you for stopping by. For those who we missed, we hope to see you for our next event on May 18th for CAC Movie Night!
