Estimated Reading Time: 3 Minutes

Each month, IRC staffers are nominated by their colleagues in our Employee Recognition program. This month we are celebrating Marc Rinebolt and Alberta Soqui!

September 2018 – Hercules Award

Marc Rinebolt works as an Information Technology Technician II here at IRC. Marc is a solution-oriented person. Having a tech problem? He’s your go-to guy. And bonus, he’s a barrel of laughs, so you’re always guaranteed a joke when he visits! Here is what his colleagues had to say about him, “Marc is a great help! Anything we need he takes care of right away. He helps us update our department web page and he even created us an online form to help streamline our work.”

To get to know Marc better we asked him to answer a few questions. Here’s a little of what he shared. Keep in mind the barrel of laughs comment made earlier in this blog.

What do you like most about life at IRC?

Blessed [IRC’s resident therapy dog]. We want an IT support dog as well, preferably a Corgi, or some other short legs/long body dog.  Have also considered Munchkin cats, but sadly, our boss is allergic.

What do you like to do outside of work?

On Wednesdays, I put on my T-Rex costume and walk around my neighborhood standing in random places without moving. The other days of the week, I coach baseball and act like a normal person.

How do you think this award reflects your personality?

I kind of wonder about this award. Why is it called the Hercules award? The trophy and logo are of Atlas! I guess it’s close enough though because they both wear loin cloths, so there’s that.

September 2018 – Positively Contagious Award

Alberta Soqui is a Consumer Service Coordinator (CSC) in the Riverside School Age East unit. Alberta is known at IRC as a kind and understanding person. She shares her positivity and smiles with those around her! Her teammates shared these kind words about her, “Alberta has a great attitude. When dealing with a difficult situation she remains positive and always considers other. She is a true asset to IRC and the families she serves.”

We wanted to learn a little more about Alberta, so we asked her a few questions. Here’s what she told us!

What do you like about working at IRC?

I enjoy helping families seeking resources and assisting them with any questions or concerns they might have. It is a nice feeling when families thank you for your support.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I enjoy collecting anything that is Star Wars or Harry Potter. And I love cheering on my favorite team, the New York Yankees.

Do you think this award reflects your personality and work here at the agency?

Yes! I’d like to share a quote I saw online that says “Your smile is your logo. Your personality is your business card. And how you leave others feeling after having an experience with you becomes your trademark.”  I think that smiling and being positive helps coworkers feel comfortable and happy to work with you.

Congratulations Marc and Alberta! You help make IRC a wonderful place to work!
