Estimated Reading Time: 3 Minutes

Each month, IRC staffers are nominated by their colleagues in our Employee Recognition program. This month we are celebrating Cheshedt Amaya and David Reyes!

July 2018 – Positively Contagious Award

Cheshedt Amaya works at IRC as a Consumer Service Coordinator (CSC) in the Riverside School Age South (RSAS) unit. Cheshedt is bright and bubbly and brings boundless energy to the agency!
Her teammates had these kind words to share, “Cheshedt will always make your day better. She is very supportive and will go out of her way to help others! There is never a day that she is not smiling or laughing.”

To get to know more about her we asked Cheshedt to answer three questions. Here’s a little of what she shared!

Tell us about life at IRC.
I’m blessed to have RSAS as my unit; it’s a great, cohesive team. My co-workers provide a serene work environment where we can collaborate! I enjoy going out in the field and meeting my consumers, their families and hearing their stories. Serving the Consumers on my caseload is truly rewarding. I learn something new from my co-workers and consumers daily working at IRC.

What is your life like outside of work?
Outside of work I enjoy hiking and spending time outdoors. I absolutely love spending time with my dog Rockie and adore him. I recently got engaged to my soulmate and partner in crime. I enjoy traveling with my fiancé and making memories together. I like to collect magnets from all the places I have visited and traveled. I also love country music!

How do you think this award reflects your personality and work at the agency?
I consider myself to be a positive person and think laughter is the best remedy in life!

July 2018 – Hercules Award

David Reyes works as a Consumer Support Technician III with two of IRC’s School Age units. David is being recognized for his hard work, dedication, and attention to detail here at IRC! His colleagues had these nice things to say about him, “David is always going above and beyond for his two units. It’s hard to manage so many assignments, but David does it with ease. And he’s always cheerful about it!”

We wanted to learn a little more about David, so we asked him to answer a few questions. Here’s what he told us!

Tell us about life at IRC.
I enjoy the work/life balance that is encouraged here. It has allowed me to further my education while working full time. I also like that my position entails a great deal of responsibility, and at the same time has taught me a lot about Case Management.

What is your life like outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy hiking with my hiking group and I participate in triathlons. I also play guitar and am a collage artist.

How do you think this award reflects your personality and work at the agency?
I have to be strong to keep it together. I work for two units and all paperwork, more or less, stops at me for processing. Staff also rely on me for answers and clarification on certain things. You could say this requires Herculean efforts!

Congratulations Cheshedt and David! You help make IRC a wonderful place to work!
