Guidance Regarding Alternative Service Delivery (ASD) for Early Start Vendors

Community EngagementVendor Announcements

Estimated Reading Time: < 1 Minute

Hello Early Start Vendors:

The attachments are being offered by the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) as a guide for use in discussions regarding Alternative Service Delivery (ASD).  The letter states that DDS wants each client receiving ASD programming to have a discussion with the vendor, by November 1, 2021.

The intent of the discussion is to allow the client/family to discuss their current and future service needs under the ASD model.   The Engagement Guide that is attached can serve as tool/guide for the discussion regarding ASD programming.  The following will be required by each vendor, for each client receiving ASD programming:

  1. Make sure you have the meeting to discuss ASD programming before November 1, 2021.
  2. Please make sure to invite the IRC Infant Service Coordinator for the discussion.
  3. Document the IDT meeting to include the date of the meeting, the participants and the client’s input.
  4. If the Individual Family Service Plan is adapted or changed in any way, as a result of the meeting, please ensure that the Inland Regional Center (IRC) Infant Service Coordinator receives a final copy of the plan.
